Change on Consumer Preference
Chinese younger consumers are showing a clear shift in preferences, seeking new, flavorful cigarette experiences in sleek superslim formats. Understanding this trend, CIDF is proud to introduce Chapman, a premium product crafted to meet these evolving tastes.
Chapman is made in Germany by Von Eicken, a family-owned business with an extraordinary heritage spanning 255 years and nine generations since its founding in 1770. Von Eicken has built a reputation for meticulous craftsmanship, quality ingredients, and innovation in tobacco products. Chapman reflects this legacy with its distinctive flavors, sweet tipping paper, and elegant brown cigarette paper, offering a sensory experience that is both refined and modern.
Launching Chapman in China Travel Retail
CIDF’s mission is to bring products to Chinese consumers that go beyond traditional China tobacco offerings. We carefully study shifts in consumer behavior—like the growing demand for flavored and superslim products—and select brands that align perfectly with these preferences. Chapman is one such product, combining international craftsmanship with insights into what younger Chinese smokers desire today.
To introduce Chapman across the region, CIDF recently held a trade fair in China, broadcasting the brand and showcasing its unique qualities to key stakeholders, retailers, and media. The product has already gained traction in China Duty Free and is listed in major airports, border shops, and cruise terminals, reflecting strong early market acceptance.
Chapman is available at key airports including Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, through leading retailers such as CDFG, Avolta, CNSC, and TIMES Duty Free, and will soon expand to Japan and other APAC locations. This launch marks a major step in CIDF’s ongoing commitment to identifying, introducing, and building international premium brands that resonate deeply with Chinese consumers.
